Kangana Ranaut Mistakenly Targets Tejasvi Surya, Believing Him to be Tejashwi Yadav
Originally, Kangana Ranaut’s Critique Was Aimed at RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav, Prompted by Controversy Over His Fish-Eating Video
Kangana Ranaut, known for her transition from acting to politics, initially aimed to criticize an opposition figure but mistakenly directed her attack towards a fellow BJP member. The confusion arose due to the resemblance in names between Tejashwi and Tejasvi. During an election rally, Ranaut remarked, “There’s a party of spoilt princes… whether it’s Rahul Gandhi who wants to grow potatoes on the Moon, or Tejasvi Surya who does hooliganism and eats fish.” Her intended target was Tejashwi Yadav, an RJD leader whose video eating fish had sparked controversy between the BJP and the opposition.
However, she incorrectly referred to Tejasvi Surya, the BJP’s candidate from Bengaluru South in Karnataka. Tejashwi Yadav later responded to Ranaut’s statement with a question, “Ye mohtarma kaun hai?” (Who is this lady?).
Ranaut’s campaign in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has been marked by her vocal criticism of Congress leaders, particularly Vikramaditya Singh, her opponent in Mandi, and Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of promoting dynasty politics.
In a recent rally in Sundernagar, she ridiculed Singh and Gandhi for their focus on impractical ideas and reliance on family legacies for political advancement. In response, the Congress criticized Ranaut for her lack of understanding of her party’s leaders and questioned her qualifications for receiving a BJP ticket. With the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for June 1, the Mandi constituency is gearing up for the seventh phase of voting.
